Summary: This 1950's Fender Champion Lap Steel, with its string-through design has amazing sustain. The thick single-coil pickup provides a very clear output but it sings when you give it a little gain. Come get some pre-CBS goodness right here.

 

Body: Yellow Pearloid finish over a hardwood body. The headstock has metal facing with integral nut stamped with lighting bolt logo and "Fender Electric Instrument Co. Fullerton, California". It’s a symmetrical two-bout body with a chrome bridge and cover plates with dome-top knurled knobs. The metal fingerboard plate pinned to the body has black paint screening to outline fret positions.Scale length is 22.5”.. . Width of nut is 2.25”.

 

Pickups/Hardware: repaired Fender pickup, relaced tuning keys,  string thru bridge, replacement knobs.

 

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches on the body. The back has light/medium wear. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.


Modifications: pickup repaired / changed pots / new tuning keys with holes / changed knobs


Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable.
