2013 Gibson ES-390 Custom Shop
Summary: This 2013 Gibson ES-390 Custom Shop is a dynamic blend of the traditional archtop's looks and sonic depth with amazing overall playing comfort. Following on the heels of the ES-339 series, the ES-390 gives the same treatment to the classic Gibson ES-330 series. The result is a smaller body, with very light weight and great playability. The neck is crafted from solid mahogany, and topped with a bound fingerboard made from hand-selected dark rosewood, inlaid with simple but elegant block markers.
A pair of Gibson's popular Mini-Humbucking pickups provide optimum sonic versatility for the ES-390. Made with genuine Alnico II magnets and wound with 42 AWG wire like the original full-sized PAF humbuckers, the Mini-Humbuckers offer a similar sonic signature and excellent hum rejection, with a brighter overall character and improved clarity to help you cut through the mix.
Body: 3 ply Maple laminate body laminate, maple with poplar core in Ebony finish.
Neck: Mahogany neck with bound Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.69” nut width, 22 frets, Mother of pearl block inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Gibson Mini Humbucker pickups, Kluson tuners with plastic Keystone tuning keys, ABR bridge, trapeze tailpiece, black speed knobs, bone nut.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches on the body. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show minimal wear. The back has some buckle rash. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable.
