Summary: (From Wildwoodguitars.com)- “Gibson's original "Burst" Les
Pauls are perhaps the most sought-after, legendary vintage guitars of all time.
They are renowned for their beauty and snowflake-like uniqueness. After all,
each one had a different level of flame in the maple top, and each finish
received a different amount of UV light, which drastically changes the finish.
So, no two are alike, and that's the beauty of the burst.”
This Les Paul is particularly
resonant and looks absolutely stunning on the wall at our shop. The pickups have a nice sparkling quality and
punch while retaining a nice vintage ambiance.
This LP is in wonderful shape and comes with the original hard-shell
case and COA.
Body: The lightweight solid one piece mahogany body
is topped with a beautiful flamed maple top with a light ice tea burst finish
and cream binding.
Neck: It has a glorious feeling, slim taper 1960’s profile mahogany neck with
a bound dark Indian rosewood fretboard, 22 frets, 12” radius, aged
cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays, 1 11/16” nut width, 24 ¾” scale length,
Kluson Deluxe tuning machine with Emerald Keystone buttons, long neck tenon- held
together with hot hide glue as per the originals.
Wildwoodguitars.com) - “We also requested
that Gibson use Wildwood Spec pickups in these beasts, and we couldn't be
happier with the results. They have such incredible vintage vibe that you'd
think you took a time machine back to London circa 1966 when you plug one in.
They have all of the qualities we covet in old-school PAFs: warm, clear
low-end, upper-midrange snarl, low-mid growl, and sweet, singing highs. The
bridge pickup is as punchy, muscular, and articulate as an undefeated
prizefighter with a master's degree in communication. Flipping over to the neck
pickup makes you feel like you dove into a vat of melted artisan milk
chocolate. It's warm, inviting, vocal, creamy, and righteously smooth.” The hardware also has a nice vintage patina
to it that really captures the vibe of a 60s Les Paul.
Cosmetics: This guitar has been kept in fantastic shape
and shows very little sign that it was played at all. The frets are in great shape with no gouges
or wear to mention. There are a few very
small dents in the finish on the back of the guitar but they are hardly noticeable. Otherwise this guitar looks as it did when it
left the factory.
Playability: Our in house luthier is a Les Paul
aficionado and takes great pride in the set ups and maintenance of them in our
shop. It plays wonderfully with nice low
action and has been strung up with a new set of 10s. It is an incredibly resonant guitar and sounds
very sweet and lively both acoustic or through the amp.
Modifications: The previous
owner has removed the original pickguard and it is unfortunately not included
with the guitar.
Weight: 8 lbs, 9
guitar comes in the very nice original Gibson Les Paul case with COA and we will
ship it fully packed, padded and insured!
